The Nigerian Association for Biblical Studies (NABIS), founded in 1986, is dedicated to promoting excellence in biblical scholarship, both academic and theological, across Nigeria and Africa. It serves as the flagship platform for scholars in universities, colleges of education, and theological seminaries, connecting educators and clergy engaged in the critical and scientific study of the Bible.

Our flagship biennial conference brings scholars, students, clergy and the general public together for papers, panels, keynote addresses, research updates, and professional recognition. The NABIS 40th Anniversary Conference — Theme: “Biblical Covenant: History and Community in the African Context” will honour the legacies of Rev. Fr. Prof. Vincent Gabriel NYOYOKO — scheduled for Tuesday 14th – Friday 17th July 2026 at Akwa Ibom State University, Obio Akpa Campus. Abstract and full paper submission deadline: June 15, 2026.
